And with that… my first class (ever) has come to a close, and I genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better group of students to get me through my first time teaching.

I consider myself very lucky to have @alexoimas as a colleague. On top of being an incredible researcher, he’s also way cooler than I’ll ever be… Even though he wants to take all of our shared RA for himself. (That’s a hard no from me.)

This is such a clever use of response times, with clear real-world implications for bargaining/negotiation. So happy to see this published, Arkady Konovalov and KrajbichLab!

One of the best parts of having a common name is that I get to (1) hear about the cool research that some other Stephanie Smith is doing and (2) use phrases like “good luck with the bats/dinosaurs/mutant mice!”

You know you travel a lot when you… (1) know EXACTLY how early you have to get to the airport to not be anxious (2) have seen all movies you want to see on the IFE (3) don’t have to ask for the wifi password (4) use the printers in airport lounges way more than any other printer

Who was the first postdoc. What’s that villain origin story University: “Hey we wanna hire you. Not to do another PhD. And not as faculty either. But a secret third thing”

Excited to share a new paper in Science Advances with colleagues from Bocconi. We offer a new way to estimate DDMs when drift rate is based on differences in stimulus magnitude, e.g. value. The method is better than logit and much faster than other DDMs. science.org/doi/full/10.11…

There are few things better to spend 3 hours on than helping the next generation of psychology PhDs succeed!! You’ll procrastinate more than that this week alone and you know it 😉 TL;DR: Editing with ASFP is efficient, effective, fun, & meaningful. More info for editors below!

Do you use cognitive/computational modeling in your research? Are you a behavioral marketing professor/postdoc/PhD student? Want to have (free) drinks with the small group of women that can answer yes to both of those questions? Join us next week at ACR! DM us if interested!
