Researching the book Sledgehammers for Tintacks I visited RAF Chicksands and got to view some V1 launch site reconnaissance imagery through a stereoscope. Incredible! The launch ramps and square building lifted off the photograph and became so clear.

Moving ceremony at Bomber Command memorial today. Superb work by RAF BBMF adding extra poignancy to the occasion. Great work by all RAF Benevolent Fund organising the annual service and readings of epitaphs from my recent book 'Epitaphs of Bomber Command' adding to essence of commemoration.
