Wonderful that Revd. Phil Barnard, Regional Team Leader of London Baptists, has signed this letter to @Michael4MDNP challenging the practices that are making refugees homeless in London.

Thrilled to read this from Matt Forde, who's recovering well following surgery to remove a spinal tumour! Matt will never know what impact his comedy & political insights have had on me. His A1 podcast #thepoliticalparty, is responsible for at least 50% of my political education!

Applications now open for an excellent paid internship with JPIT for young adults passionate about faith, justice and politics. Check out JPIT.uk/internship and tell others! (P.S. would be great to have lots of Baptists Together young adults apply 😉)

"If the mission of the church is not to alleviate poverty and suffering, then I don't know what is. If you read the Bible... that central driving mission of Christianity, I think, is a rage against injustice." - Wes Streeting 🙌👏

With our right to vote comes a share of power that will determine how UK policies impact our communities & the wider world. Followers of God are called to do justice, to love mercy, and to walk humbly. We must ensure we use our power, guided by love & in the interests of others.

Today I met with fellow ChurchWorks Commissioners, Sir Stephen Timms & Lord Wajid Khan in Westminster. I was deeply encouraged by the conversations around meaningful dialogue & genuine partnership between Government & Churches, as we seek to address issues like UK child poverty.

Lynn Green is joining senior faith leaders to call for bold action on child poverty. While we come from different faith traditions, we share a belief that working to end poverty should be a hallmark of any decent, compassionate society. ow.ly/2VcL50Vmfyn JPIT
