Random Saturday #IvyHoops musings... Yale is clearly the top-dog of the conference, but projecting the rest of the conference ranks is really, really hard.

Nice recruiting boost for New Haven Men’s Basketball Before committing to Brown, the incoming freshman NY native also received offers from Bryant, Manhattan, Fairfield, Albany and Loyola (MD). At 6'8, the athletic Traore packs face-up rim attacking abilities. #NECMBB

6’5 SG Daxton Dayley out of Bemidji State (D2) tells me that he’s receiving interest from Central Connecticut State. Averaged 7.5 points, 4.2 rebounds & 1.4 assists. Shot 33.6% 3PT. One to play, graduate transfer.

Really curious if some high-octane teams with multiple scholarships available — like Texas Tech — will fill spots with mid-major kids akin to the ones mentioned here, similar to what UConn has done with Millender/Koroma.

It’s interesting how much Australia in the FIBA U19s uses Jack Whitbourn at the high PnR as his ability to change gears and shoot makes him particularly dangerous opening up the floor. Will be fun to see him play alongside Fordham’s new guards like Reaves/Henry.

No idea Jalen Barr still had eligibility. In just one year at Iona, Barr quickly endeared himself to the fanbase with his hard-nosed, team-first style highlighted with his bulldog mentality on defense, unafraid to ā€œpunch up in a weight classā€.

I’m Really happy to announce my commitment to Iona Men’s Basketball and I want to thank the coaching staff for believing in me. Let’s be great! #Gaelnation #Iona

Iona fans were pining for a ā€œtrue bigā€ and they finally got their guy. 7’2 wingspan and averaged 13.0p, 10.5r, 2.1a, 2.0b w/ Lulea BK šŸ‡øšŸ‡Ŗ last season.

Looking at Hofstra Men's Basketball updated 2025-26 roster, their lack of size outside of Silas Sunday and Josh DeCaddy makes me think that Iona transfer Biggie Patterson will get some minutes as the 6'7 204 small-ball five. #CAAHoops

Wow, intriguing late pickup for Bryant Men's Basketball as Akoue was offered by both Arizona State and Virginia Tech last summer. With six scholarship players listed at 6'8+, Bryant has some of the deepest group of the program-anointed term "big wings" in #AEHoops

Didn't catch this date until now. Can't believe it's been nearly 20 years, but kudos to both the new staffs at both Fordham Basketball and Iona Men’s Basketball for getting this matchup together, especially considering the long history between Geriot/Magpayo.

Wagner's newest transfer, Sam Smith brings a unique profile to the Seahawks. To add to what Nelson reported, the 6'7 245 Smith also hit 38% of his threes last season (73 3PA), which adds an inside/outside element Wagner is used to at the 5 spot. #NECMBB

Reading Sam's report on Wucherpfennig makes me super curious to see how Casey and his staff will utilize his unique profile, especially since the team has very little proven talent at the 4. #MAACHoops
