Following the discovery of a suspicious item in a property on Chadwick Rd, Haresfinch, a cordon is in place and the road is closed as well as parts of Finchley Drive and Woodley Drive. The situation is currently being assessed but there is no wider threat to the general public.

HARESFINCH UPDATE ‼️ Following the incident on Chadwick Rd any residents who have been evacuated from their homes and require assistance and support can attend Chain Lane Community Centre, Hinckley Rd where council officers will be able to offer help.

UPDATE | A cordon in place in Haresfinch, after the discovery of unexploded ordnances in a house on Chadwick Rd on Tues 24 Jun, will remain in place until at least Thursday. They were found after the non-suspicious death of John Nelson, 64, at the house. (THREAD)

UPDATE: ‼️ Chain Lane Community Centre is open until 10pm this evening. After this time help is available on 01744 23044. We are prioritising vulnerable residents into hotel accommodation and have opened a rest centre for those with nowhere else to stay.
