People think Reinbacher can’t play 2nd pair with Hutson from day 1 this season. In 2022/23, Guhle came right from junior, played first pair minutes while Matheson was hurt. His first game? Faced Matthews & gave him zilch. His 4th game? Faced Crosby & gave him zilch.

As of today, the only team in the Atlantic division that have a top 4 D more productive than the Habs at 5 vs 5, on a Pts/60 basis is Buffalo. I’m really looking forward to see how the Kesselring acquisition helps them.

Humm, I like Thomas Hickey’s faith in the Habs’ D but I don’t think they are there yet. Within 2-3 years though, I firmly believe they are there. I can see: Guhle/Dobson Hutson/Reinbacher Engstrom/Carrier First two pairs may well be interchangeable by then.
