Today 11 youth activist against #EACOP that were arrested at KCB BANK UGANDA premises in April appeared again in court. They are charged with offense of criminal trespass which is minor offense under laws of Uganda.Unfortunately they were denied bail & matter adjourned to 26 June 2025

On Friday, 15th June 2025, young activists from Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania gathered in Kampala, Uganda, to launch a petition to the EAC Parliament demanding action against the harmful #EACOP project. We reject a future of climate destruction, forced evictions, and oil spills.

The EACOP project will cross over 200 rivers and wetlands, many of which drain directly into Lake Victoria. Even one spill could poison the lake. Even one leak could destroy thousands of lives. There is no excuse for not #SaveLakeVictoria  #StopEACOP #actnowforabetterfuture
