What role can AI play in understanding and affecting human behavior? Mills, Costa and Sunstein detail how AI can use pattern detection abilities, personalize and contextualize information, and more to change the future or b-sci: link.springer.com/article/10.100…

I wrote on my blog about why information management in decision-making is a behavioural problem, not a technical one, and why Jevons' paradox means AI might make information overload problems worse, not better: automaton.substack.com/p/were-probabl…

My new article, in which I use cost-benefit analysis to explain why we not have seen evidence of time travel, is now out in Seeds of Science. This is maybe the best paper I have ever written. At least the funnest.

Just before Christmas I received notice that I have been appointed a Visiting Fellow of Behavioural Science in LSE Psychological & Behavioural Science. Big thanks to Liam Delaney for his support and guidance, and to all my colleagues there also.

I have a new paper out with Ganga Shreedhar and Cahal Moran in Behavioural Public Policy journal. We ask whether sludge is a barrier to green behaviours. We argue that it sometimes is, and give examples. But sometimes, a behavioural explanation is probably insufficient: cambridge.org/core/journals/…

We have a new preprint on personalised nudging for anyone that is interested. It's an interesting time for the idea, and we hope this can offer some conceptual clarity for others. doi.org/10.31234/osf.i…

Richard Whittle and I have a new piece out in The Conversation about social media investors. We argue these investors aren't irrational, but adopting high-risk strategies based on their feelings about their economic prospects. theconversation.com/meme-stock-inv…
