This is the late Sergeant Alfred Masters, the first-ever Black man to serve in the U.S Marine Corps. The Trump Administration has scrubbed all mention of him from military websites, considering it “DEI.” RETWEET if you stand with Sergeant Masters this Memorial Day! 🇺🇸

As often, Stephen Bush puts the case eloquently. The last Labour government decided, rightly, child poverty was unacceptable for many reasons & to tackle it. Child poverty is still unacceptable. on.ft.com/3SmI6bn Britain’s two-child benefit cap must go

Best for Britain Reform is a sick joke; the emperor’s new clothes. It’s a constant repeat of the Brexit formula. “Everything is broken, we will smash it all up and throw it all out” ‘What will you replace it with?’ “We have a plan, don’t worry” ‘What’s the plan?’ “Trust me bro”

I hope that this clear, crisp, and measured explanation by Steve Rotheram, Mayor of the Liverpool City Region, Steve Rotheram, of the danger and panic caused by those maliciously stoking hate - even if they are "just posting from their kitchen tables" - gives commentators defending such actions pause for thought. ~AA

Shouting “Fire!” in a crowded theatre has been an exception from free speech for a very long time, even in countries most fiercely protective of it. I would argue that this is doubly important now that people are able to do it blithely from their kitchen table for racists lolz.

Do not understand why Westminster media have mostly fielded the B team for Farage today - no disrespect to any colleagues - but political editors should be there.

Press: Is it appropriate to depict female cabinet ministers as cows about to be slaughtered? Farage: They did it to us first, anyway it's just bantz, anyway I never said we were perfect. 👀 ~AA

We have been warning you about this man and his links to American anti abortion campaigners. Now the mask is slipping about what he would do - the ONLY way to protect abortion access is to make it a human right. Ask your MP to co sign NC17 to the policing bill now.

"Geographic reality means Europe will remain our largest and most important trading partner; with improved relations key for our economic security and living standards. That’s why the PM must go much further and harness this momentum." ~AA @pimplicat leftfootforward.org/2025/05/closer…

Interesting framing by Sky News' Jon Craig, considering that Farage was in the South of France *while* the Commons were sitting, to set him up as hard working while "other parties are on the ski slopes or whatever". 🧐~AA

"It’s astonishing for Clegg to shrug and say: there’s no way of stopping AI from stealing your stuff… If I created a great new drone, that nicked whatever fuel it needed from Tesco, I promise you I'd have a big fkn problem. The system would say: fix your product or it’s dead.”
