"When we warm the globe by one degree, we get a really large change in the frequency and the severity of our #ExtremeWeather and our #ExtremeClimate events." Our thoughts are with those who are and will be impacted by this week's events.

What a fantastic event, thank you Prof. Ronika Power and everyone who helped put the workshop #EPWDMQ together. So many data issues that transcend and unite our disciplines.

Congratulations, Melbourne! Loving that we are opening up again, but feeling so sad for those who don’t have jobs to go back to and who will have a tougher journey out of COVID-19.

If the risk of catching COVID-19 (and getting very sick or dying) just by passing a random stranger in the street doesn’t encourage ‘hesitants’ to get vaccinated, I’m not sure what will. Do it, folks - GET VACCINATED! NOW. It IS a race! #vaccinate

This sort of ‘he said, he said…’ escalation is never helpful, and in the past has led to wars! Surely it’s time for our PM to genuinely speak for Australians, to reach out in a sportsmanlike way and re-level the playing field. Or let a woman take over! theguardian.com/australia-news…
