📢 Machine Learning Multiscale Processes ICLR 2025 Deadline Extended to Feb 23! 📅 Given low-level theory and computationally-expensive simulation code, how can we model complex systems on a useful time scale? Why attend?🧵

I just want to point out how unbelievably offensive it is that the VP of the US (and Musk) courts with a neo-nazi party in Europe and lectures Europe on Democracy. Please do not accept this as just stupidity. It is very dangerous. theguardian.com/us-news/2025/f…

Why am I not seeing more outcry on the brutal assault on DEI in the US? The queer community is the first target of authoritarian regimes (or worse). This is the time to show your support even if you feel pressured not to (in which case you have already lost freedom of speech). 🏳️‍🌈

Interestingly, something similar can be done for irregular data structures - point clouds - with a couple of tricks including hierarchical trees and FlexAttention🌳 1/N 🧵

Variational Flow Matching goes Riemannian! 🔮 In this preliminary work, we derive a variational objective for probability flows 🌀 on manifolds with closed-form geodesics. My dream team: Floor Eijkelboom Alison Erik Bekkers 💥 📜 arxiv.org/abs/2502.12981 🧵1/5

Excited to be in Singapore next week for #ICLR2025! 🇸🇬 DM if you want to chat about geometric deep learning and/or generative models on manifolds, or just to enjoy some nice specialty coffee ☕️ I don't look like Barbie but my poster does 🪩😎

Had so much fun at #ICLR2025! So happy for the chance I had to present my work, meet old and new friends, and discuss with brilliant researchers there 🫶🏻 Bye Singapore 🇸🇬 ❤️

We are honoured to receive this award ☺️ This work would not have been possible without Thomas Hehn, Arash Behboodi and Gabriele Cesa. Also cheers to the organisers Multiscale AI for making this workshop happen and Pim de Haan and Johann Brehmer for the brainstorming sessions!

people say GNNs are turning obsolete, but one thing I noticed in my experiments: attention is not so good at picking up local fine-grained details and you need GNNs to do the job! This is because GNNs are a lot more expressive when it comes to pairwise interactions. 1/n

🔷🦀 TetWeave: Isosurface Extraction using On-The-Fly Delaunay Tetrahedral Grids for Gradient-Based Mesh Optimization is accepted to #SIGGRAPH2025 (TOG). Done in collaboration with Ruben Wiersma, Philipp Herholz, and Olga Sorkine-Hornung. But why a new shape representation? (1/9)

Ruben Wiersma (@rtwiersma) 's Twitter Profile Photo

This was a wonderful collaboration 🤩 We developed a method that optimizes both an irregular tetrahedral grid and SDF for mesh optimization with marching tets. It recovers really detailed meshes with a fraction of the memory!
