Those who think Julius Maada Bio Govt has been wasting money on football, earlier on Saturday 31st May 2025, our national female team, Sierra Queens, stunned West Africa beating the powerhouse and twice defending champions, Senegal, 1 nil to win the WAFU A FEMALE TOURNAMENT.

Earlier in the 2025, Benin beat Sierra Leone Football Association Sierra Queens home and away in the AFCON qualifiers. Few months later, these brave girls regrouped and worked harder to reign supreme in the WAFU A TOURNAMENT. This is committment and hard work, both signs of true champions.

Last year, the PAC of Parliament frowned at Ministry of Finance, Sierra Leone expenditure without supplementary budget approved. Now, the attached report is saying they refuse to sit on it this year. As Sierra Leone Football Association elections nominations open, the battle for the Presidency heats up with 6 names mentioned as aspirants, with some describing the electoral road map as controversial. The 6 rumoured aspirants, if the proposed road map stands, can be nominated from 8th to 15th June 2025

The names gossiped so far are, incumbent Thomas Daddy Brima, Bo Rangers FC Chairman Babadi Kamara, Current and former Leone Stars TM, Umaru Bah and Christian Dauda. East END LIONS FC chairman Junior Navo and business woman and politician Aminata Bangura. The road map may likely change.

Whilst many keep asking if former FIFA Council member and former Sierra Leone Football Association President, Isha Johansen will contest, there has been no reason for that. As for me, it will take a miracle to change my mind to contest. But I learn not to say never, even when so unlikely.

I don't know how FIFA Sierra Leone Football Association and all associated with convening the congress and supervising the elections failed to see the breach. Nominations for Sierra Leone Football Association elections scheduled 2nd August 2025 have concluded with 4 presidential aspirants and about a dozen others nominated for 6 elective positions. The pictures are of leading opposition candidate Babadi Kamara and other aspirants aligned to his candidacy.

With Sierra Leone Football Association elections looming, here is a fact. NO PRESIDENTIAL ASPIRANT/CANDIDATE who has submitted a manifesto has won an election. Tne winners of the past elections have never presented a Manifesto.

Another good move. Julius Maada Bio Govt led by Ministry of Finance, Sierra Leone have avoided borrowing from the domestic market through bearer bonds for several months. This has brought down interest rates considerably. And banks now are now liquid enough to support the private sector. Very significant.
