Sun Valley clinched its sixth straight Ches-Mont American Division wrestling title with a 40-32 win over Oxford, Wednesday.

Sun Valley escapes a Chesmont clash with the Hornets from Oxford with a 43-38 win. Nora Novotni hit a game sealing three with 2 min and 25 seconds left to give the Vanguard’s breathing room in a closely contested game. The team improved to 14-6 for the season.

Three pointers were flying this week from SV as they split their final 2 regular season games. Sun Valley finished the reg season with 15 wins, the most since 2013. SV lost a tough one at WC Rustin on Monday and won the home finale vs the Bulldogs from Morrisville tonight.

Great turnout from the SV community tonight to see the Hall of Fame Induction ceremony for Tommy Ellis. Tommy becomes the first Vanguard inducted into the Chesmont Hall of Fame. His wife, Steph, and his daughters are pictured here accepting this well deserved honor in his memory!

Congradulations to Xavier and Manny for making the State meet today. All they did was compete and Manny took home 5th place with a time of 7.88. This is his first time running this event and he is 5th in the State and 24th Nationally! Great job!

Unified Bocce State Championships in Hershey today. Congrats to the Vanguards for finishing in 8th place out of almost 500 teams.

Sun Valley defeated Bishop Shanahan 8-7 in 12 innings. Jordyn Skarren hit the game winning double on her 100th career hit. She also struck out 19. Abby Moran hit a 2 out 2 run single in the 7th to extend the game. Carly Hess also had 2 RBI’s.
