Astonishingly, bats make up approximately ONE-FIFTH of all mammal species worldwide. They are the only mammals that can fly, and are found on every continent except Antarctica. Here, rescued fruit bat Colin enjoys a banana. #BatAppreciationDay

2025 is a year for early #Swifts! Don't worry though the vast majority are still making their way. Wishing them a good year and home to come back to 🙏🏼

This swift lost its nesting cavity due to construction work. It doesn’t understand and keeps coming back, still looking, brushing against the wall, trying to cling to it. This behavior usually lasts about ten days 1/2

Swifts always return to the same nest each year. If their nests are blocked, they may not be able to breed. This can lead to a decline in their numbers. It’s important to protect their nests when working on roofs to help them survive and breed. 2/2

Labour are backtracking on a plan to help save birds: by blocking a new rule that would make developers put a £35 nest brick in every new home. They think it'll help win them votes - we need to show it would do the opposite. Sign the petition 38d.gs/dlkr

The Planning & Infrastructure Bill gives developers a licence to trash nature. We can deliver affordable housing without destroying our natural heritage. I urge the Government to accept my amendments, safeguarding irreplicable habitats like chalk streams. Credit PoliticsJOE

I've written to my MP to demand that the Government adopts a #naturefriendly approach to planning and development. Will you take action too? Help ensure that nature is at the heart of government's #planningreforms action.rspb.org.uk/page/159517/ac…
