This Bill undermines the presumption of innocence for welfare recipients, they will be suspects by default. It creates new conditions for support: sacrifice your right to privacy & expose yourself to the cruel sanction of losing your drivers licence. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Today’s results show that Labour needs to deliver the actual change people voted for - offering real hope by reversing ever-widening inequality. Dropping plans to cut disability benefits and properly taxing the very richest in society would be a good place to start.

I did not stand to become an MP to push hundreds, if not thousands, of my disabled constituents into poverty. I will not be voting to cut benefits for the most vulnerable. The government should do the right thing and drop the policy.

There are 275,000 PIP recipients in Wales, more than 14% of working age people. These cuts will hit us disproportionately hard and vulnerable people will be put at risk. The people of Wales did not vote for more austerity.

Tightening PIP eligibility criteria will pull the rug out from under disabled people across the country. These cuts will hit Wales particularly hard, and they will hit my constituents particularly hard too.

My constituents voted for a fresh start, not a fresh round of austerity. I have co-signed this letter calling for the government to change direction and drop its plans to cut benefits. The alternatives to austerity are open to us. The government should properly tax the very wealthiest in society rather than going after the most vulnerable.

I addressed PSC Montgomeryshire in Newtown this weekend. The government must prioritise human rights. It must take meaningful action against illegal settlements and the siege of Gaza. And it must confront its own historic and present role in allowing this suffering to continue.

Powys County Council's "rationalisation" (read: selling off) of parts of its farm estate to address a budget shortfall is leaving many of my constituents in the lurch. The council must treat tenant farmers with care and compassion Powys County Times NFU Cymru 🚜 FUW Farmers Weekly

The government has engineered itself into a state of wilful ignorance. It risks dismantling international humanitarian law to maintain its support for Israel. We are at a hinge moment in history: we can suspend arms exports to Israel, or risk being complicit in genocide.

Today, Wednesday 4 June, 27 Palestinians on their way to retrieve food aid were killed by Israeli forces, the third such attack in three days. A further 12 were killed in an air strike on a school-turned-bomb shelter. How is this tolerable? Where are the government's red lines?

Thankful to the British Palestine Committee for allowing me to speak today alongside aid workers and community leaders joining from on the ground in Gaza. Israel is deliberately starving people - our government must take a stronger line British Palestinian Committee bit.ly/4jDbCF6

Wow. Nigel Farage had nothing positive to say about the people of Wales today: Welsh people "don't have ambition"! As for his comments on steel, the people of our Aberafan Maesteg community are not fools. They know Farage is a chancer... 1/3

A Labour government should never try to balance the books on the backs of disabled people. My question to the Prime Minister at #PMQs today.

We need a welfare system that supports, not punishes, people when they need it most. Disability benefit cuts will deepen hardship and inequality across Wales and the UK. I’m voting NO.

The Government published its UC & PIP Payment Bill today. Wales already has the highest poverty rates among disabled people in the UK - this will push them deeper into hardship. We wrote to the DWP urging the cuts be abandoned. I will be voting against this Bill.
