Our latest paper looking at hospital nursing team composition and patient risk of death is finally out. Led by Peter Griffiths we found that low RN staffing = higher hazard of death. High use of temporary staff also increases hazard of death. jamanetwork.com/journals/jaman…

Celebration time! Soon-to-be Dr Talia Emmanuel Talia Emmanuel successfully defended her PhD thesis yesterday with minor amendments. Her work focused on optimizing nurse shift patterns using data science. Examiners were impressed by how much she had accomplished in such a short time.
