.Taronga Zoo wildlife hospital has released back into the wild its first marine turtle of the year. The female green turtle was rescued in October after she was found injured on the central coast. After making a remarkable recovery she's been returned to the sea. #7NEWS

Meet Dr Jo Day! Jo’s research focuses on using genetic & animal tracking techniques to understand the population ecology of marine species. Jo is working on the Seabirds to Seascapes project which aims to understand of little penguin &fur seal populations and movements in NSW.

Meet Dr Rebecca Hobbs, a research biologist whose primary research interest is in cryobiology of non-mammalian sperm, such as coral and squamate lizards. This work aids in breeding management and the long-term preservation of ecological communities. #nationalscienceweek

Meet Dr Phobe Meagher, who is working to combat illegal wildlife trade in Australia & in SE Asia, targeting the world’s most trafficked wildlife. Phoebe is also a marine biologist & was part of the team that saw platypus return to the Royal National Park! #nationalscienceweek

Meet Jane Hall! A wildlife health specialist at Taronga’s Australian Registry of Wildlife Health, she investigates wildlife disease outbreaks, studying species on land and in the ocean. She is currently focused on the health of Australian fur seal species. #nationalscienceweek
