This Impact Report basically covers my first year with CMHO, and I’m grateful to to be part of a Team doing such great work with our system partners and with government on improving access to mental health care for Ontario’s children, youth and families. Check it out!

Today is a good day for Ontario’s children and youth. Thank you Doug Ford and Sylvia Jones for today’s historic investment of $330M across the children’s health sector, including in child and youth mental health. This will serve kids and families now and into the future.

Huuuuuge congratulations to childrenshealthcoalition who brought a systems approach to right-sizing children’s healthcare in Ontario. A well considered action plan with clear priorities across the continuum of care inspired a historic investment for ON kids. 🔥 #MakeKidsCount #WeCANforKids

“Too many kids and families end up in hospitals because they can’t get the mental health care they need in the community. [This] investment will help us advance an innovative system of care for child and youth mental health..." Tatum Wilson #MakeKidsCount #KidsCantWait

My Great-Grandma would have been 118 today. These pictures are from her wedding in 1929, her 102nd birthday in 2007, and her 106th birthday in 2011. She passed away shortly after that. What a life and an inspiration! How fortunate I was to have her in my life until I was 35!

15 years ago, when we started working together, never would have guessed that my son and @ParisSemansky’s daughter would be walking to school together! Deb Matthews and Kathleen Wynne, thought you’d get a kick out of this!

As the CEO of CMHO, I know that our Team and our members stand together to support 2SLGBTQ+ youth. As the father of a kid with 2 Dads, I’m appalled that there are people who don’t want kids to learn that our family exists. There is #NoSpaceForHate.

I actually don't think that the equation is "good parents = kids will tell them". It's actually "good parents = understanding that their kid may not want to tell them first, and will tell them when they're ready to". It's an important distinction.

Without clearly outlined goals, strategies & funding to reduce alcohol-related harms to infants, children, youth & families, this retail expansion will put additional strain on an already overloaded community mental health and addictions system. Read more: bit.ly/48kmja3

On the CBC News: The National tonight, at least 4 Premiers spoke, individually, and all but 1 of them had their name said & and written on the screen while talking. The final one was identified as “this Premier”, and no name written. Ian Hanomansing and Olivia Stefanovich, any idea why?

💯 One more for MO staff. Get out and visit your stakeholders (frontline staff ideally) where they work. I did “Friday Field Trips”. A day shadowing paramedics, a day shadowing home care nurses, a day visiting different LTC Homes…Learned more from those than any meeting at QP!
