Ensuring farmers earn the price they deserve is at the heart of my work as the Executive Secretary of Cote d'Ivoire-Ghana Cocoa Initiative and therefore delighted to be part of today’s ceremony that marks the start of the 2023/24 season in Ghana 🇬🇭
We welcome the new farmgate price of 1,308 cedis per 64kg bag of cocoa announced by the President of Ghana Nana Akufo-Addo. Securing the highest possible price for farmers is at the core of our work as we start to correct market imbalances & pay farmers a decent income. #FarmerPay
Current market price shows that we were right to fight for higher income to farmers. Now we all need to work together under the economic pact to achieve sustainable cocoa that will assure long term supply and deliver strong values cocoa.
