The Club's Dam Beat produced 40 fly caught spring salmon for the month of April. Well above the 5 year average and an excellent result in comparison with most beats in the Tay system. There is good availability for May which is prime time. To book go to pitlochryanglingclub.com

The fish counter at Pitlochry Dam has been revamped for the 2024 season. 🐟 Our environment team are pleased with the performance and very high accuracy. You can see one of the salmon swimming upstream below.

We’re excited to see a steady increase in salmon activity so far in May, which is in line with historic fish counts.Ā  We’ll continue to keep you updated with this season’s migration and share video clips of salmon ascending the ladder on the totems at Pitlochry Dam very soon.

Despite some of the reports about salmon catches in recent times, catches on the River Tay have been building for some weeks, and last week saw the best salmon catches from the River Tay for the time of year, probably for many years! tayrivers.org/fishing-report…
