Working with CxOs and VP closely and you often hear the word "ARR"? I see, as a test engineer, you should know the ARR of the solutions you are testing and shipping consistently. ARR means Annual Recurring Revenue. It is commonly used in subscription based business.

while you are identifying, designing & executing the tests for the problems the system does not have, it is equally important to identify, design and execute the tests for the problems the system has and will have. What your tests say?

Is the system solving the problem your users care about? What your tests say? What your users who pay the business, say?

Maybe, not all, or no one, solves every problem on the first try. It is okay, if I'm not able to make out from the first or first few tests. It takes, pauses and resume, to understand the test and the problem it is trying to learn, before it helps to identify one.

The irony of today's software testing community is, people who created & running the community say - the testing is dead; move to the programming roles. And, the name of community has 'Testing' in it. I don't know should I laugh at myself or ignore it. I'm minding my business!

What we & I build as part of automation in our the development project, I𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐚𝐧 "𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭" 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐚 "𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤". This learning is hard; not easy to pick & learn for we test engineers who do the automation

Not all reported bugs will be fixed. This is known to all of us. Then, will it result to a Technical Debt? Yes, if that bugs make sense to the growth of product & business from the user. Priorities leads us to debt. At times, priorities get profits & say incurring debt is ok.

When said & marketed as AI is to enable people, why corporate organizations are laying off people, saying restructuring the org to align with "AI first"? The adoption of AI should enable all those who are being laid off. Right? I'm trying to understand the corporate decisions!

Every code can be tested to a degree. But, there is a "testable code" whose value and credits are high! And, this "testable code" helps to test in chunks and parts. This is useful! Testability and Automatability are prominent characteristics of "Testable Code".

"Now, these are covered in automation" This is not a RCA.

If we cannot test for them, we cannot automate them.

One of the value returning activities in Software Test Engineering is, "to automate on the lowest layer the *testability* allows."
