Zones of Regulation fortune teller with strategies to help other children and adults.

For Geography, children have been thinking about the home they have, in the town they live in and the country they are proud to be part of.

World Religion Day yesterday, we spoke about where we think God is. The children had great conversations on their table about this topic.

We had a great time at Forest School this morning at Rockingham J&I

The children had some therapeutic/ mindful time creating their garden of joy

Science this afternoon- the focus was on gravity. The children were really engaged in this lesson and created some beautiful posters.

We made some delicious pancakes today 😋. The children followed instructions to make the pancakes and enjoyed eating them after.

As part of our SEMH learning yesterday afternoon, the children were given a Blob classroom. They first identified which Blob they felt they were in their home school classroom and then coloured the Blobs in how they think they are feeling linking it to the Zones of Regulation.

What makes you unique? The children used mirrors to draw them selves and wrote down qualities that make them unique. They then went onto colour the qualities in linking them to Zones of Regulation.

Getting creative making our own play doh. We also added smells into it this week.

We used the Blob feeling cards this afternoon and sorted the Blobs in to the Zones of Regulation categories. The children were able to recognise the Blobs emotions and had a great conversation about why they thought that.

Our artist study this afternoon on Wassily Kandinsky. He focused on abstract art. We were inspired by our book focus this week The Dot.

In Science this afternoon, children learnt about parts of a plant and what each part does. They then chose a creative way to show this.

Following on from yesterday's Science lesson, the children today focussed on the life cycle of a plant. They then created their life cycle of a plant and could accurately talk and write about each part of the cycle.

Forest School - We had a fantastic time exploring a variety of activities from arts and crafts tied to our growth mindset theme to den building, creating obstacle courses, and woodwork skills, a nature hunt and sensory activities in the mud!

Forest School/Literacy - This week, our book 'The Most Magnificent Thing' the main character in our story made something magnificent for her best friend, her dog. This week, we planned some instructional writing for our magnificent creation - Willow's Den
