Great trip, great result. Incredible work by Ed to bring this story together! Mike Clare Prof. Dan Parsons @LboroUniversity 🌏💧🛰🌊⚽️🏏⛳🏈 Maarten Heijnen Matthieu Cartigny @Moving_Sand
Well-deserved accolades for UofC Geoscience PhD student Rebecca Englert! Can you spot the bedfoms in this drone model? Which way was flow?! These questions were not trivial to answer when this work was started, but Rebecca's OA paper demonstrates how it all comes together...
New paper led by Sophie Hage is out in JGR: Biogeosciences exploring how organic carbon is delivered by rivers to, and transported across fjords. Carbon stocks much higher than predicted in sandy systems due to the influence of turbidity currents. agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.102…
A cool project I get to be a part of with Steve Hubbard thanks to funding and interest from Taylor Institute for Teaching and Learning

It has been my pleasure to have been able to work with Sophie Hage on this project. She came to @UofC_Science January 2020 with a great idea, and despite all the obstacles that got in her way, saw her vision to completion. What a result, Sophie! Thread below ⤵️

Great to see Rebecca Englert’s OA paper out in GEOLOGY showing how upstream-migrating bedforms form in submarine channels. It’s not all about Froude number… pubs.geoscienceworld.org/gsa/geology/ar… w Steve Hubbard @Moving_Sand Matthieu Cartigny Age Vellinga
