Great to be at the Montana Biofolm Meeting with my lab and James N. Wilking, catching up with Center for Biofilm Engineering folk. Fantastic and fun workshop day on Engineering Living Materials organized by Dr. Chelsea Heveran Gerlach-Lab! #biofilm #bacteria #ELM #MBM23 The Center for Biofilm Engineering ⛰️☀️

Congratulations to Dr. Humberto Sanchez HumbertoSSanchez who successfully defended his #PhD today! Caught his slide on device modeling: *the following slides contains mathematics some viewers may find disturbing. #Math=disturbing? Never! #proudPI #ChE #Engineering #PhDone🤓🧮

Jamaican fruit bats are pretty cute. There are 1400 bat species in the world, 500 million worldwide that harbor all the #viruses! Thanks for the seminar @TSchountz aka Batman who studies a #bat colony of 600 with more to come in new bat vivarium aka Batcave Colorado State University 2024🦇

Great time at #BMES2023 with Anja Kunze, Ph.D. and Stephanie McCalla. High consumption rate of 小龍包dumplings over the past few days. 🥟

Excited that our collaboration with the Taylor lab Matthew Taylor is now published in Science Advances. We cultured single #neurons on Matrigel #hydrogels created using #droplet #microfluidics and watched infection with herpes #virus (HSV-1). science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

Was great to host my former undergraduate student and recent #NSF GRFP recipient Hannah Szafraniec from #UMN UMN Biomedical Eng at #MayoClinic yesterday. Hannah talked about her work studying sickle cell rheology using #microfluidic flow imaging of blood in the lab of @davesbiochips.

Great to see this work with Connie Chang published! Digital droplet RT‐LAMP increases speed of SARS‐CoV‐2 viral RNA detection, Smart Medicine onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10…

Long trip home from Singapore but good to see old friends and new. VignuzziLab Pricilla Yang Fadi Alnaji. Thank you Matthew Tay for hosting my visit to A*STAR Infectious Diseases (ID) Labs. A*STAR is a unique R&D agency doing innovative translational work bridging academia and industry! 🇸🇬

Great to catch up with Matthew Taylor at Mayo Clinic who gave a seminar on #HSV and #measles that I missed 😭 as I was headed back to MSU for a thesis defense.
