I sent off my short story collection yesterday. No idea of publication date yet. Now onto the next piece of work...several ideas brewing. I hope you are all creating lots of beautiful stories despite the dark days.

Just got back in a car and drove for the first time in nearly 20 years. It was all surprisingly familiar.

Waiting on the district nurse who is coming to give my 90 year old dad his first Covid vaccination. My dad hasn’t left his annex since last February. Feels a bit like Christmas.

‘Don’t get attached to the sheep in the garden,’ the farmer advised. But like Dan Akyrold’s Puff Marshmallow Man in Ghostbusters, the names ‘Betsy’ and ‘Bernadette’ popped into my head. This morning the sheep are gone. #farmlife

Home from Eastercon. A whirlwind of emotions. Thank you to Ian Whates for an incredible book launch for my collection, Sparks Flying. So many wonderful friends and inspiring as ever to be around gorgeous creative folk.

Today is my birthday. I also have Covid, which means self-isolating and not going to India tomorrow on my big adventure anymore. It's all a bit pants. But I do now own a Dracula shaped garlic crusher thanks to my sister. #covidsucks #silverlinings
