🔑 points: W/ appropriate process inter/intra rater reliability @ 60 deg in line is excellent in healthy pop. Meaning majority of change score seen can be attributed to change in construct IKD & in line are largely interchangeable -🚫fixed or proportional bias in ACLR pop seen

This is open access for two reasons: 1. We strongly believe that all research should be accessible to all people. 2. I was not asked to put up any of my own money to make that happen. In all seriousness, thanks Rich for getting this over the line!!!

This will surely be a great resource. It's tricky to find free-standing electromechanical dynamometry, but if you have access to one, use it with your post-op knees. So helpful. So reliable. So interesting. You miss it when it's gone 🥲

Exciting start to 2024, we share our clinical study showing inline dynamometry is reliable and cost-effective for quads strength testing. What an amazingly successful #BOFAS2024 BOFAS for Liverpool Orthopaedic and Trauma Service this year. Our work (inc collaborations) accounted for 26% of all scientific presentations, successful grant application and UK FATE Audit winning the Chan Chen memorial prize. Well done everyone

Anyone have any confidence with the Lever sign for ACL tears? The most recent systematic reviews with meta analyses suggest it is accurate. Our study out soon in OJSM with 101 participants suggests otherwise Alan Price Dr Rachel Oldershaw 🌻 🇺🇦

If you struggle with your handling for the valgus stress test, try holding the knee like a guitar and have your fingers on the joint line. Keep your arms straight for nice long levers. Test in slight flexion then full extension.

Made up that our Lachman/Lachmeter®️ study has been accepted for publication. Combining the Lachman end point and Lachmeter measurements correctly ruled in/out >90% of ACL tears within 3 weeks of injury
