As part of our Careers programme, all students in years 7-10 were lucky enough to be visited by BBC Bitesize today on their careers tour. The presentations focussed on careers in a variety of different sectors & allowed students to actively discuss different career possibilities

Thank you for everyone’s support on Friday for our non uniform day in aid of BBC Children in Need - we raised a whopping £1315.43!

GCSE Computer Science studen are taking part in the annual #GCHQChristmasChallenge tomorrow. Students will be set the task of cracking seven fiendish puzzles and then using their answers to uncover a hidden message. Download the challenge at home via the GCHQ website!

A group of students delivered our food drive donations yesterday morning and were given a tour around St George’s Crypt to learn about the support they give. Thank you to everyone who donated to raise a fantastic amount of donations!

We took a group of Y10 EPR students to @lincolncathedral on Tuesday & had the most amazing time! The tour of the cathedral was brilliant, the staff were so welcoming & informative, and the students were an absolute credit to the academy. Thank you to all involved!

Due to the current weather conditions & the likely travel disruption tomorrow morning, we have taken the decision to open to students at 10.45am to allow everyone to arrive safely and the site to be cleared. Form time will begin at 11am. Thank you.

Unfortunately there has been further snowfall overnight. This has prevented our sites from being able to be gritted. As a consequence we are unable to safely open today, so school will be closed for today, Monday 6 January 2025. Thank you for your understanding and support.

We have been working hard to ensure we can open safely tomorrow. If you don’t hear any further updates, the gates will be open at 8.30am as normal. Unfortunately, our attendance celebration event has had to be postponed 😢 therefore everyone should be in full uniform. Thank you.

We are very sorry to report that school will remain closed today. Our contractors have not been able to access site, therefore, due to the significant snow and black ice that has formed overnight, the site is not safe for staff or students to access.

Mr Cox & 14 Y10 EPR students visited Leeds Trinity University yesterday for their annual Think:Fest conference. Our students were given a taste of studying Ethics & Philosophy at degree level, and an insight into uni life. Thank you Leeds Trinity University for such a rewarding day out!🎓

We had a fantastic day celebrating #worldbookday. Staff dressed up as their favourite book characters and students had the opportunity to take part in a whole host of reading related activities including a ‘masked reader’ task, an emoji book quiz & a library escape room mission!

Please be reminded that tomorrow (Wednesday 12 March) is a CPD day for staff therefore the academy will be closed to students. We look forward to seeing everyone return on Thursday. Thank you.
