We think our Orchids of Cyprus tour is pretty special, and the 2025 trip report is on our website so you can get a taste of it too. But don't take our word for it. Our guests' feedback has been wonderful to receive - thank you! mariposanature.com/tours/botanica… #BSBICorporateSponsor

24/5/25 Cumbria - The Birds Nest #Orchid is a funny-looking thing, lacking chlorophyll and therefore being almost wholly reliant on mycoheterophy for its sustenance. This is the only reliable population I know from this county and it's near a cracking chippie, too #wildflowerhour

24/5/25 Cumbria - Some more fine examples of one of our finest #orchid species, the Sword-Leaved Helleborine (Cephalanthera longifolia). Seen with my good friend and stellar botanist David Morris #wildflowerhour

Definitely a day of 2 halves yesterday - The morning spent admiring Burnt Tip and Military orchids, whilst the afternoon was a 5 hour war of attrition spent at Dungeness tracking down the Eastern Bonelli's warbler.

A gorgeous day of alpine plants today. Moss Campion and a trio of Saxifrages (Starry, Mossy and Tufted) 😍 Also saw Purple and Alpine who weren't flowering. #wildflowerhour

Come and join me for #orchids on our guaranteed departure to Cyprus at the beginning of March next year! It's a perfect opportunity to fill your boots with spectacular endemics, well before the UK #orchid scene gets going. mariposanature.com/tours/botanica…

From a single marsh orchid in 2022, this rare example of remnant lowland meadow in Netherley now has 28 flowering! <10,000ha of this remains in Britain which makes expanding naturally wildflower rich spaces like this so important🌱❤️ Liverpool City Council BelleValeCouncillors Carl Cashman

My last photos from Noar Hill. Three different plants of yellow Fly orchids including the one that had been flatterned. And just because the rangers had collected all the corrugated iron sheets doesn't mean that they aren't worth a look Slow Worms. Dr Richard Bate Gareth Lambe

Heath Spotted Orchid is a rare beast in the Cotswolds , so considering how dry it’s been nice to see a small flush of about thirty plants. , with views to the Malverns in the background

29/5/25 Cumbria - A nice pair of #orchid species at CP_UK_whinfell; Creeping Ladies Tresses (plus rust) (Goodyera repens) looking good for early July and Broad-Leaved Helleborines (Epipactis helleborine). Surprised not to find Lesser Twayblades though BSBI: Botanical Society of Britain & Ireland #wildflowerhour

Well I'm just walking down the road and I think 'I wonder if there's any orchids growing in that abandoned building?'. Voila one Southern Marsh Orchid. Dr Richard Bate Gareth Lambe
