Challenge to Ontario’s #healthcare system — we need to co-design with people with lived experience a disability / medical complexity approach that works for adults. Who wants to work together to make this a reality? 🙋‍♀️

How I began to suspect that getting cardiac studies accepted for publication in medical journals is the main goal – not changing an unacceptable status quo for patients. And a great example of implementation science working in the community. myheartsisters.org/2023/04/16/imp… Carolyn Thomas ☮️

Patients at a TGH clinic were told they need to pay for a VHI test normally covered under OHIP. This is a mistake on our part and we are addressing this directly with our patients including full reimbursement of any payments already made. We are sincerely sorry for the confusion.

Someone just shared a heartbreaking post by a walk in clinic in Ontario, “Please be kind to our office staff; it is not their fault that our clinic is full for the day, or that healthcare is frankly broken." Across the country, ER's are closing for lack of staff, millions don't

Turned down because she is over 45 and not married? Come on, this is nothing but discrimination to women. Disgraceful. Ottawa family doctor denied permanent residency over marital status, age ottawa.ctvnews.ca/ottawa-family-… #cdnpoli #women

The progressive undermining & criticism of science in the US was disheartening & unsettling. Now we’re seeing that go to another level. I know people who’ve had clinical trials—real, practical things—put on hold, says @seanpcleary UofT General Surgery @uhn torontolife.com/city/sean-clea…
