I know one or two folks on here that know a bit about Dexters Christopher Price Geoff Sansome Anyways, I promised 15 year old Pip that I'd highlight his little cattle venture on here. sellmylivestock.com/view/listing/p…

First hay baled. Good stuff but awful yield. Normally enough from this field to feed cattle for 8-10 weeks. Barely 3 weeks’ worth this time. Worse than the drought year by a country mile. Pants.

Twenty years.... wow, that's some commitment for Pilgrim’s Europe to put out there. 👏 I'm sure there are a few comparing and contrasting this with contracts on offer in their own sectors.

I guess we all buy and consume food, so that's perhaps why BBC News (UK) has focused on rising food prices in their immediate reporting. But other spending categories driving the monthly increase, mainly transport. So why not focus on that? bbc.co.uk/news/live/c4g8…

If only there was some authority on advertising standards that could have offered some sort of indication that swearing in ads might be a little bit of an issue.

Govt view on production potential some way short of reality given current market conditions. Policy introduced without industry consultation. And no detail on how policy will work, creating confusion and indecision. #notgood bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Store cattle as a competition prize.... haven't seen livestock on offer as a prize since Farmer Bob used to donate a pig to the winner of the skittles at the village show back in the 80s. mcvcompetitions.com/product/4-x-su…

Headed out with the platemeter this morning. It's a year when the average stats don't really tell the story and grass growth here has been a million miles away from the Forage for Knowledge data. Pleased to be averaging circa 50kg/DM a day over the last week. Second cut?!?

Quick question on historical price of farmland in UK --- where would you go to get a reasonable dataset? I've got RICS info.... anywhere else you can suggest?

Took a tumble yesterday, after slipping whilst doing something I’ve done hundreds of times over 30-something years of harvesting. Quite a few bruises and scratches, but all ok. Get what3words, agree a check-in frequency if lone working and stay safe. Farm Safety Foundation
