Well, this little sequel to The Edan Trilogy is out today. While Darkness Gathers is an experiment for me, a risk and an attempt to say more with less while exploring how we can respond to the gathering darkness. Am I excited? Yes. Nervous? Oh, yeah. Grateful? More than anything.

I absolutely loved Blood Over Bright Haven! To those who have read both, which did you prefer?

A wonderful tale, using a murder-mystery scenario to great effect set within a well-drawn fantastical world. The characters shone for me. I came to care about them and felt immersed in their journey. When a book makes me feel, it's a win for me. This book made me feel.

Growing up David Gemmell was one of my favourite authors. He remains so to this day, and was one of the inspirations for my becoming a writer. So, it was a wonderful and surreal honour to be asked by Orbit Books to provide a foreword for the 40th Anniversary Edition of Legend.
