Two girls at recess gently found pill bugs & made dirt house with leaves/sticks for them, gently petting them "...their other name is Roly poly" "Did you know they're ancient? Like so old their great great great times a million grandparents were around with the dinosaurs!"

Same 4th gr class Sartori Elementary, yesterday vs today w/feedback on Asking Questions We workshopped a few to be specific & detailed. Then Ss wrote Qs ā“ļø Why is the salmon population going down as it gets more modern? ā“ļøCan salmon eat bigger opponents than them?

Learning Lab Sartori Elementary w/1st gr teachers today on "Science-itizing" read alouds. We elicited ideas on light w/a fiction story to launch the unit. Ss had such interesting ideas about light/dark! *inspired by Dr. Allison Hintz & A. Smith's book Mathematizing Children’s Lit

Bee Monitoring 101 šŸ at St. Edward's State Park I didn't know there are flies that have yellow stripes! Also, much easier to tell the difference between a bee, wasp, and fly from photos than real live observations
