1/ New JGIM Journal of General Internal Medicine: <2% of buprenorphine Rx are abandoned (not filled) A $10 increase in cost-sharing would increase abandonment by just 0.09 pp. Eliminating cost-sharing should be coupled with other interventions to increase buprenorphine use. 3/ This finding suggests efforts to increase buprenorphine use might focus on barriers to receiving an Rx in the first place. It also suggests low rates of buprenorphine retention are driven by a lack of receipt of more Rx, not barriers after Rx receipt. jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/…

This is an incredibly important paper that I think all professors TAs, curriculum designers, EdTech developers working on AI tutoring tools, educational policy makers, academic administrators and et al. should read it

Annual universal depression screening for adolescents is cost-effective at $54K/QALY & $72/depression-free day vs. usual care. This highlights the need for stronger support for adolescent mental health in primary care settings. Grateful to Lisa Prosser PhD Davene R. Wright, PhD David Hutton!

New research led by Dr. Geoffrey Hoffman of UMSN finds that older adults are more likely to leave Medicare Advantage due to issues with access and quality of care, rather than the cost. The study was also published in Health Affairs. ➡️ myumi.ch/y1kjn
