We are saddened to hear about the passing of the great Alford Gardner, a founding member of Caribbean Club Leeds and a pillar of the Leeds community. He forever changed Britain's Caribbean community, setting a precedent for local connectivity, fellowship and legacy. RIEP!

Talking tonight at this ✨free✨ online event later today for Wandsworth Council, challenging the Windrush Narrative which so much of our Black British History seems to hinge on. Looking forward to sharing more this and discussing the way we understand Black British History.

Olive Morris was a civil rights champion, who embodied the best of Brixton: a radical anti-racist & feminist housing activist who stood up for what she believed in. Today, I was honoured to attend the unveiling of a blue plaque on Railton Road commemorating Olive and her work.

We are saddened to hear of Marika Sherwood's passing. She was a powerful force in African and Black British history, both in her research and for the community as a founder of BASA. We offer our condolences. May her work and passion embolden us to expand Black British History!
