Worrying slide in HE detailed here. Anti-trans rhetoric is built on misinformation & exploitative scaremongering. It's transphobia by definition, feeds growing trend to frame trans ID as pathological, a social problem; trans people as "a virus". Just like being gay was.

If you are a member of the HE community who supports trans-inclusion, then please consider reading and signing this letter to Advance HE, as I have.

Signed and urge those currently in HE/academia to consider the rights of their trans and/or non-binary colleagues here. We cannot push for freedoms and rights of one particular minoritized group whilst ignoring the oppression and ill-treatment of another.

To mark the end of Pride Month, here is a short thread to celebrate some trans scientists and their amazing contributions. These are great scientists, and great people who have risen above transphobia to succeed - that's worth celebrating. #Pride2022
