Compared to Next.js 15.1 (just a few months ago) we've seen customers report that the latest version of Turbopack is up to 57.6% faster. And it consumes about 30% less memory. The whole team spent many weeks focused on profiling and finding tons of incremental wins!

Huge milestone on Next.js Turbopack production builds achieved internally. Vercel has one of the largest Next.js monorepos in the world. It's 8+ years old, has 65,000 modules, 7,800 dependencies, 70 active committers in Feb. The unlock: build speed scales with number of cores.

Excited to announce Jeanne DeWitt Grosser is joining Vercel as COO. She's a legendary company builder who spent the last 10 years at Stripe, most recently as CBO. Most importantly to me, she's a true believer in developers, open platforms, and the web. Can't wait to take Vercel

Lots to love about this release. 1ļøāƒ£ The beginning of arguably the most exciting journey in Next.js history: Turbopack production builds. Like with our `next dev` efforts, focusing on the cold case first, we've been able to bring down one of the world's largest Next.js

Excited to bring you the first version of "next build --turbopack"! Looking forward to seeing the results and iterating quickly towards stability. If you have feedback, let us know! Next up: Tests: 57 tests left. Though we don't expected most applications to run into these
