On day 6 of #ucuRISING I'm striking for all my UCU academic related & professional service colleagues Unis literally cannot run with you. You do so much to support students and staff every single day! Proud to be in a union which supports working conditions of all staff 💜

There's a crisis of academic casualisation and precarity at the LSE. Insecure and short-term contracts are rife. We're social scientists, so we decided to research how serious the problem is. Here's a thread with our key findings, 28-page report + code repository. UCU #ucuRISING

I’ve recently heard the devastating news of Prof Bridget Hutter LSE Sociology passing away. She was HoD and Head of the PhD Program while I was studying. I was also her research assistant for 3+ years and I will be forever grateful for having meeting her. (1/3)

I’m not surprised Sunak has made Gove stepdown his plans to abolish leasehold, as much as I loath the system, it would be a legal nightmare of a reform. And this government simply doesn’t have the intellectual or administrative capacity to undertake such a serious reform.
