Cl3 children have been thinking about the properties of 2D shapes & have made quadrilaterals on peg boards. We then looked at symmetry and mirrored each other, looked for lines of symmetry in 2D shapes and recreated out own shapes in forest school too! What a shapetastic week!

We really appreciated our visit from the RNLI who came to speak to our tribe about how to keep ourselves safe at the beach, such important information for where we live. Our children really enjoyed it! Thank you RNLI

Our Fencing Club is proving to be a huge success, we will be running this again next term for those that didn't manage to get a place.

We are delighted to be taking part in the RSC Associate Schools programme. The children experimented with the themes of status, mistaken identity, separation and reuniting in our first workshop. Here they have really captured the idea of status between master and servant.

Our Tribe came together to take part in the Mini Marathon 2023 challenge yesterday where the children pledged to run one mile. It was lovely to see their determination and positive attitude as they cheered and supported each other along. Well done to every child who took part.

Unfortunately the weather was against us for last week's Multi-Skills event, but it did not dampen our Key Stage 1 children's spirits! Our 2 teams showed real determination, resilience & great sportsmanship.

The weather held for Cl3 to take a trip into Boscastle & what a beautiful morning we had! We field sketched as a geographer considering how Boscastle was rebuilt after the flood, & looked at all of the flood defences mankind has put into place to prevent it from happening again.

Well done to our Learning Warriors & Calm School Code Custodians, & all our children that participated in last week's Multi-Skills event. Also a special mention for our Y6 tribe who have completed their SATs this week. We are so proud of their resilience and positive attitude.

Class 3 have been looking at the parts of a plant for fertilisation & pollination. To understand the lifecycle of a flower, they dissected their parts & labelled them using scientific vocabulary. What a great way to understand the different parts of plants and their functions!

Class 3 worked as scientists to experiment how to separate water & oil this week, as they will be learning more about the Torrey Canyon Oil Spill that happened off the coast of Cornwall in 1967. How do experts clear up an oil spill & what affect does it leave on the environment?

Yesterday Class 1 and 2 spent a wonderful day there visiting and demonstrating their curiosity about the animals and their habitats. Thank you Newquay Zoo for such an enjoyable and informative day.

Class 3 and 4 had a lovely time with Wavehunters_UK yesterday, having fun, taking risks and catching waves.
