#DYK all classes had access to flushing toilets on #TITANIC, but only third-class handles were flushed automatically? First- and second-class toilets would have been flushed by pulling a large handle like this. This recovered artifact is larger b/c operated 3 different valves. 🚽

Before his time on #TITANIC, Sir Cosmo Duff-Gordon was an avid fencer. He won a silver medal in the 1906 Intercalated Games for the épée men's team. An épée is one of three weapons used in fencing. (The others are sabre and foil.) #ParisOlympics #OlympicsHistory #TITANICPassenger

Pt. 2 According to Olympedia.org, the International #Olympic Committee did not deem the 1906 Intercalated Games an official Olympic Games. All the medals awarded were questioned. Some argue otherwise. Do you think Sir Cosmo earned his silver medal as an Olympian? 🤔
