I strongly welcome the EU deal. We're NOT "rolling back Brexit", though I'm yet to have anyone tell me what the benefits have been of the whole thing. The only people who ever mention Brexit to me are local businesses saying how bad its been for them (+ immigration is now 1M+๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ)

Amid the kudos for the Test Match Special commentariat, a word for Andy Zaltzman for his excellence per se as scorer, but also his dry wit & ability to truffle the archives for interesting stats. Andy is very easy on the ears. Knows when to keep quiet & when to illuminate.

7 million people in Britain will now be subjected to a hose pipe ban to conserve water. An unavoidable situation, if you were reading this in 1992 when the last reservoir was built

To those frothing about using farmland for solar, it is less than 0.0015% of grade one land! So small as to be almost unmeasurable.

Every time more bad news comes out about the UK economy, it makes Labour's "steady as it goes, with tiny tweaks" approach to Brexit more and more absurd. Reversing Brexit is the ONLY way to inject decent growth. It may not be easy. But it's NECESSARY. Nothing else will work.

I understand why Ben Wallace is getting it in the neck for overseeing the Afghan cluster**** but Grant Shapps was appointed SoS for Defence one day before the superinjunction was taken out. Not heard a peep from him since story broke! Apology maybe?

UK inflation is 3.6%. Eurozone inflation is 2.0% The Bank of England interest rate is 4.25%. The ECB rate is 2.0% Brexit is costing the government around ยฃ50bn a year. We are paying a massive cost for not being in the EU and the Eurozone - higher inflation, interest rates,

This is completely nuts. Leaving aside climate change (and the phenomenal arrogance at the heart of this), Reform now oppose * 5,000 jobs in South Wales and energy security from offshore wind * renewable energy powering homes and businesses * electricity, cables, batteries

This idea about not letting 17 year olds vote. In 2016 I was 19 and I voted #Remain because I could see through the lies and thought it was damaging to leave. I heard 70 year olds saying they voted for #Brexit to get cheap fuel and stop immigration.

Come on Laura - stop letting Farage get away with grotesque lies on #climate - the green economy is growing 3 times faster than rest of the economy. The green transition is in our *economic interests* & itโ€™s Farage whoโ€™ll de-industrialise the UK, not green policy #bbclaurak

12 min - Nigel Farage's interview in which he didn't have answers to many of the questions asked by Laura Kuenssberg 7 mins - Ed Davey's interview in which he wanted to answer questions from Laura Kuenssberg but they conveniently ran out of time

My #water bill will rise by 47% in 2025, less than half as much as the 100% bonus-ban-busting pay rise for my water companyโ€™s boss. This represents โ€œcommon industry practiceโ€, like rinsing customers to pay shareholders dividends and filling our rivers and sea with shit.
