Today, I presented to BC’s Select Standing Committee on Finance & Govt Services about the urgent need for increased funding in K–12 public education. School districts continue to face downloaded costs, inequitable funding & persistent gaps that impact students. #bced #bcpoli

It's #NationalIndigenousPeoplesDay – a day to reflect on the strength of Indigenous culture and celebrate the powerful contributions of Indigenous Peoples. This Coast Salish weave gifted by Angela George captures the #BurnabySchools learning journey and stories of the local land.

Today, June 21, we celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day by embracing səlilwətaɬ culture & history and the strength of our community. We raise our hands to our Elders, Knowledge Keepers, & Ancestors for holding the vision of our people & our connection to our land & waters.

Today on #NationalIndigenousPeoplesDay, I celebrate the rich culture, histories and contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples across Turtle Island. It’s also a reminder of our shared responsibility to walk a path of #Reconciliation with respect, truth and action.
