does your #API have workflows across a variety of resources, and typical ways how clients traverse these resources? if so, i'd love to hear from you how you design, document, and support them in your API. bonus points for stories involving #OpenAPI.

“What many GraphQL and ElasticSearch believers get wrong when they rely on these solutions for delivering publicly available APIs, is that they are unwilling to come to terms with the fact they can’t see their resources through the eyes of the public.” b.mamund.com/2JYi2hd

“I’m reading a lot about microservices backlash lately. I’m guessing after about 1-2 more years of serverless, we will start seeing serverless backlash. ” b.mamund.com/2K0f6R5

building pieces is challenging, but there's lots of tech and tooling. the real challenge is managing the continuously evolving landscape of pieces into a functioning ecosystem.

so true what Steven Willmott is saying: we should focus on constraints for #API design, not on the design itself. we need team commitment. we need stable APIs. we need an extensibility strategy. support #API teams satisfying those constraints. We're now @apispecs!

Why are so few Java web frameworks implementing reverse-routing? Is nobody linking between resources (HATEOAS, HTML links and form actions), or everybody hardcoding paths? or making their own "link factory"?

hbr.org/2018/07/resear… A average age of successful founder is in their forties. A good reminder that experience and already being in a industry is can be advantageous. Wouldn't it be good to able to combine youth and experience? Any examples of that?

Thanks. That explains what I had been experiencing over the last week as I have been doing development work and was frustrated thinking it was me but not the time to diagnose. Oh to be this less than 1%-wrong minority

This is a really good take on a listed company CEO being an idiot. It did also have us revisiting the Moa IPO prospectus from 2012 (which included advertising, yes really). Pages to cringe at: cover, 16, 23, 29, 44 (especially), and 68 (also especially): philcook.net/beerdiary/wp-c…
