at the natural science museum yesterday my wife heard a mom very confidently tell her 2-year-old “a SHARK is a MAMMAL” and it just reminded me that even when people are in the exact place they need to be they can’t be helped if they are unwilling to accept help

in high school, I got the second-most votes for "most artistic" and lost to someone more popular who didn't do anything artistic at all and was entered into the category as a joke by his friends. in retrospect, this prepared me more for a life of making art than my MFA

one of the parents at my toddler’s daycare scheduled a birthday party on Mother’s Day and I can’t tell if this is extreme oversight or a genius psyop to get men and kids out of the house for several hours

saving this for the next time someone asks me how to organize a book of poems

whenever someone says writing efficiently means using the least amount of words possible remind them how we all say “jobs where you get to work with your hands” instead of “hand jobs”

my wife keeps putting music on our Alexa and my toddler keeps shouting ALEXA PLAY MONSTER MASH

toddler went number 2 but when I went in to help him he dramatically pointed at the potty and said Dun dun DUNNNNNNN
