Great work Marcos Vinicius Caiafa Sepulveda and Truffle Smith Lab! Excited to see your research on bird mycophagy in South America. #fungi #ecology #mycophagy #birds #ornithology
Check out our blog on #fungi & #birds |ow.ly/VFdC50yA2nn| just out on #theBOUblog! There are so many interesting ecology questions to be answered requiring interdisciplinary collaborations between #ornithologists & #mycologists! Uni of New England ERS_UNE Michelle Jusino @KarlVernes
Congrats Ryan Stephens, Amy Trowbridge & Paul Stoy on this fascinating paper about #rodents, #truffle aromas, #mycophagy, and #ecology! Amazing to see this specialization among #Elaphomyces.
Thrilled to have two papers on mammal #mycophagy accepted to the upcoming special issue of #Mycologia! Thanks @dhaelewa for helping make it happen. Great to collaborate with some amazing biologists including: @KarlVernes Truffle Smith Lab Dr Alexander Georgiev Paul Meek and others!
Excited to have our paper on Hastings River mouse #mycophagy newly published in #Mycologia! This #endangeredmammal plays an important role in the dispersal of #mycorrhizal fungi. Thanks to @KarlVernes Paul Meek Uni of New England Mycological Society of America moved to bluesky MSA Student and Postdoc Section and all!
Bonobos eat truffles! Excited to have our new paper out describing a new species of #truffle that is eaten by #bonobos in the DRC. Thanks Truffle Smith Lab Dr Alexander Georgiev and Mycological Society of America moved to bluesky for helping to make it possible. #Mycophagy ERS_UNE Uni of New England
#Bonobos 'helped' us find and describe a #truffle known to Bantu people in the DRC as simbokilo. This ecologically important #fungus is used by locals as trap bait. #History #Science and #Conservation! Our paper covering the sad loss of mammal diversity over 150 years in #Aridaustralia was just published in Biological Invasions. Thanks @KarlVernes & Stephen Jackson for this great collaboration! #desertwildlife #extinction #ecology #desertecology
Excited to have two papers coming out in this #Mycologia special issue on animal-associated fungi. Thanks @KarlVernes Truffle Smith Lab Dr Alexander Georgiev Paul Meek and others! It is great to see this #mycophagy research going to press! #mycology #ecology
Did you know #brushturkey, red-necked #pademelons, red-legged pademelons, long-nosed #bandicoots & parma #wallabies eat the same clusters of mycorrhizal #Amanita fungi? @KarlVernes and I just published a natural history note about this in #AustralEcology dx.doi.org/10.1111/aec.12…
Check out this great illustration by Tixier Camille Camalotcreations-illustrations of research that @KarlVernes and I recently had published in Ecological Society of Australia about vertebrates eating #fungi! #mycophagy #Amanita #mycology
What exciting adventures we had searching for a possibly #extinct #mammal in #OutbackAustralia! Thanks @KarlVernes, Stephen Jackson & team. Check out our recently published paper to see some of the cool #animals we found in the #desert! #mammalecology #desertecology Experiment
Excited about our new paper on New Guinean #bandicoot diets, #ecology, dentition and digestive tract morphology just published in The Australian Mammal Society!
