Huge crowds watched 500+ floats during this year’s Pride parade 🏳️‍🌈 Following the route from Hyde Park to Whitehall, our city lit up in the colours of the rainbow as we celebrated our LGBTQI+ community. London: a city where you’re free to be who you are, and love who you love.

At the 7/7 Memorial in Hyde Park, I joined the Prime Minister and representatives of our emergency services to lay a wreath to honour the 52 people whose lives were cruelly stolen. Our thoughts and prayers remain with all of their loved ones and all those who were injured.

Two decades on, as we unite for a day of commemoration - our message for those who seek to spread division & sow hatred is clear: you will never win. London’s determination to stand together is stronger than ever. We'll always choose unity over division.

This morning I attended the memorial service at St Paul’s commemorating 20 years since 52 people were killed on 7th July 2005. As the names of the victims were read out, 52,000 white petals fell from the ceiling.

Good to show Mayor of Toronto, Olivia Chow, around the Olympic Park with London Legacy Development Corporation this afternoon, including some of the affordable housing that’s been built there.

Fantastic news that Tonic Housing, who delivered the country’s first LGBTQ+ affirming retirement community supported by a loan from the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, is now a Registered Provider of Social Housing. This will enable them to access City Hall grant funding for affordable homes.
