Hockey 5s has only been around since 2014 and already has junior international categories (U16 - U21) already. Yet, indoor hockeys first International Hockey Federation tournament was in 1972 but only got its own World Cup in 2003 & still doesn’t have junior international categories. 😳🙄😤

The incompetence of FIH president Tayab Ikram and anyone else with this mindset is staggering! 5s gives the IOC an easy alternative to 11s. If a small sided game is required/ wanted, then indoor is perfect, as it’s different enough to promote & not be a direct threat to 11s.

An hour later and still no one from GlobalGSRM Hamburg can be bothered to work on a Saturday afternoon! You’d think a company representing 4 major airlines in Aer Lingus, British Airways, Iberia_en & Vueling Airlines for customer service, would at least show a hint of service 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hockey not being part of the Commonwealth Sport would be catastrophic for the sport. If a reduced format is required, you’d hope the International Hockey Federation would be smart enough to offer indoor as viable alternative.

For a nation that got 2nd in the world rankings this year, you’d think as an organisation that would be time to build on this with a well presented domestic product. But nope, some random goals with no meaning. Frightening how badly club hockey is represented compared to europe.

So close yet so far. Having played & watched both the DHB / hockey final 4 & England Hockey super 6s. Why are 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 still using a 20 year old yellow floor? So difficult to see the ball as a player & fan. 2 games a day is criminal! Not done in the outdoor finals, so why for indoor?

I’m often critical of the International Hockey Federation but embracing PSi Hockey to improve indoor hockey is a master stroke! HOW ALL INDOOR HOCKEY SHOULD BE… ONE GAME PER DAY PER TEAM ❤️

🇲🇾 & 🇮🇷 giving 🇩🇪 seriously competitive games! Only a couple of goals in it at halftime! Makes you appreciate if other nations played as much indoor as 🇩🇪 many more nations could be at this level too!

Some excellent games being played in the International Hockey Federation indoor World Cup, lots of smaller nations able to compete with bigger nations! Exciting and meaningful for all! What a great game format…!

Unpopular opinion, the indoor WC is a better product than the International Hockey Federation Pro league. - Wider range of nations competing from across the globe in meaningful matches - closer range from top to bottom in level - Better TV experience, especially for non-hockey background viewers
