Fortunate to have 7 yrs of GRDC Farming Systems data showing canola following pulses had higher gross margins than canola following cereals at all 4 sites, driven by higher yields and lower N requirements.

For you the pulse/wheat/canola/wheat works others prefer double break + double cereal. Ideally looking for diversity with pulses at 20%, 25% or 30% of the rotation. Great discussion!

New (open-access) paper! I tried to figure out how to talk about pod-set in faba bean properly. Key takeaway: Interactions between pods are agronomically irrelevant except after stress that kills flowers/pods. Focus on crop growth from flowering! doi.org/10.1093/jxb/er…
