I am very excited to announce that I have been awarded an European Research Council (ERC) starting grant to study the impact of Neandertal admixture on early modern humans MPI-EVA Leipzig! Will be looking for Postdocs/Students soon, DM me if interested!

Excited to share a meta-analysis of the loci/mutations contributing to vertebrate #pigmentation variation. Led by Joel Elkin with @evolvwing and Virginie Courtier Orgogozo using @gephebase data. We identify trends and knowledge gaps in the field. We hope you enjoy it. shorturl.at/uzBQ5

Interested in the genomic basis of sexually selected variation? We are looking for a postdoc interested in the loci underlying variation in cichlid anal fin egg-spots in collaboration with Richard Durbin and @Dlimnothrissa. More info here: jobs.cam.ac.uk/job/33247/

Genomics Job Alert, join my team LIB, looking for two PhD candidates to work on #sex_chromosomes in #cichlid 🐟 in a project funded by DFG public | @[email protected] and #genomics of #museum collections funded by Leibniz-Gemeinschaft, for details see leibniz-lib.de/en/karriere/

Toxins, fights, astonishing navigation skills, parental care, crazy gen & phenot diversity, stunning colours... Sound familiar? Fernando Vargas-Salinas and I invite you to submit your papers on #poisonfrogs (broad sense) to this SI in Evolutionary Ecology! 👉link.springer.com/collections/fe… DL: 🗓️31.05

Check out my new perspective piece in PLOS Biology where I share my vision for the future of natural history collections, one where we don't need to sacrifice animal lives to conduct collections-based research, which I term "compassionate collection" journals.plos.org/plosbiology/ar…

JOB ALERT! Please retweet! We're looking for a postdoc Cornell University to use #metabarcoding and #metagenomics to examine what wild-caught fish get used in feeds to fuel global #aquaculture, and help make production more sustainable 🧬🐟🐠🐡🧬therkildsenlab.org/join-us.html #postdocjobs

Excited to share this preprint with Tyler Linderoth Nancy Chen 陳嵐欣, Lauren Deaner, Raoul Boughton, and the late Reed Bowman: Translocations spur population growth but exacerbate inbreeding in an imperiled species biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Hear ye hear ye! Open postdoc in my lab at W.K. Kellogg Biological Station and MSU; soil microbial ecology (what else?). Apply by Jan 31. Come join a great 'crobes group, and KBS community.
