Classic technique from the Times. Give readers an introduction with analysis that reaffirms their politics and then bury the evidence the analysis is false later in the article where they know readers won’t go. Misinformation and an alibi all in one.

Agreed. Political violence in a democratic society with regular elections and constitutional protections is NOT righteous.

NBA teams frequently face a problem where they are pressured into making bad contract offers to keep a player. They have a solution in their CBAs to limit the damage. They restrict spending and contract terms precisely to avoid the sort of extortion seen here. 1/2
