A new preprint has been published entitled "Strain softening and hysteresis arising from 3D multicellular dynamics during long-term large deformation". Collaboration with Dr. Tsubota (Chiba U) & Tetsuya Hiraiwa (Academia Sinica). biorxiv.org/cgi/content/sh…

Three PhD students from mechgen.jp (Mr Teranishi, Mr Fukamachi, Mr Karimata) are visiting us Hiraiwa Lab - Theoretical Physical Biology Group in IoP-AS PALM labs @IOP AS TW to develop our biophysics research connection!! Thank you all for coming, sharing your beautiful results, and having stimulating discussions with us!

We invited Dr. Won Kyu Kim (SNU/KIAS, Korea) to our lab Hiraiwa Lab - Theoretical Physical Biology Group in IoP-AS PALM labs @IOP AS TW to learn his analytical methods for stochastic dynamics! He also gave a seminar at IoP on theory of first-passage time under confinement. Thank you for coming and sharing your knowledge, Wonkyu!

Keng-hui Keng-hui Lin and Tetsuya Tetsuya Hiraiwa invited Prof. Jun Nakanishi (NIMS, Japan) for 3 days. We learnt a lot from his seminar on their material development to study cellular mechanobiology. Wonderful days!

New paper, "Strain softening and hysteresis arising from 3D multicellular dynamics during long-term large deformation," is now published in "J Mech Behav Biomed Mater." Fantastic collaboration with K Tsubota, S Horikoshi, Tetsuya Hiraiwa. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

New preprint by Yuting Lou! biorxiv.org/content/10.110… We added detailed calculations, more case studies, and discussions on applicability, to Lou et al PRL '23. Fruitful collaboration with Sophie Theis, Timothy Saunders and JF Rupprecht - OM team starting at MBI! Thank you all and Mechanobiology Institute !

How do simple chordate larvae sense water flow and swim upstream? 🌊🧠 Our new preprint from Chatzigeorgiou lab, in collaboration with Tetsuya Hiraiwa, combines behavior, calcium imaging, and modeling to explore this flow-sensing behavior. Read the full story⤵️biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Posted a little while ago on the other social "space" , here is our preprint on the cellular and behavioral mechanisms underlying Ciona larval rheotaxis. Great collab with Tetsuya Hiraiwa and Ayumi Ozawa. Well done Oleg!

Faculty position opening at Institute of Physics, Academia Sinica 中央研究院 Academia Sinica , Taiwan. academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/30190 Join us PALM labs @IOP AS TW !
